Species on the Move: Upland Sandpiper

Upland Sandpipers are on the move (and they have been for a few weeks now). With its distinctive call this species can be a salient feature of the acoustic skyscape of nocturnal migration. Look to the legend in the bottom right of the map below showing the date to see which progression line associates with which date. Also note that you can use the sliding circles in the “Days Ago” legend to see how the progression of migration for this species has changed over the last 30 days.
