Philippe finally arrives

Andrew Farnsworth The Cornell Lab Oct 06, 2023

The remnants of Philippe, a long lived hurricane, tropical storm and depression, and post tropical cyclone, are coming ashore in northern New England and the Canadian Maritimes. Whether there will remain any entrained tropical seabirds or over water Neotropical migrants, whether there will be displacement of nearshore pelagic species, time will shortly tell. Please report your observations to eBird if you can safely observe birds – even though this storm is no longer a hurricane or tropical storm, heavy rain and strong winds can make for dangerous conditions.

Please follow along on this live map to see where hurricane-driven species occur during the passage of the remnants of Hurricane/Tropical Storm/Post Tropical Cyclone Philippe.
