Kevin Winner, BirdCast Alumnus Postdoctoral Associate, Yale University Center for Biodiversity and Global Change

Kevin is a Postdoctoral Associate with the Yale University Center for Biodiversity and Global Change. His postdoctoral research is on using machine learning to address knowledge gaps in species distribution modeling for data-poor species. During his PhD at UMass Amherst with Dr. Dan Sheldon, he worked on the large-scale radar analysis methodology component of the BirdCast project as well as other applications of machine learning and statistics to models of ecological systems. His thesis focused on novel statistical inference techniques for models of population dynamics.
